Coach Don Meyer's Thoughts on Playing Hard

The only thing you can guarantee in basketball, is that you are in control of how hard you play.

Playing hard makes up for a multitude of mistakes.

The two main reasons players don't play hard: #1 - they’re mentally weak (lazy) and #2 - they’re playing too many minutes (fatigued).

Playing hard requires you to play “in the now”… not thinking about the last play or the next play. Focus your effort on this play."

When playing to win, effort is not enough, you must play with intensity.
