DO YOU ALWAYS KNOW?

If you are trying to become a good basketball player, don’t ever find yourself dribbling casually up court when suddenly the buzzer goes off ending the quarter or first half.  Nothing shows your lack of awareness any more than the buzzer surprising you.

You should know the time and score at all times.  Look up every time the clock is stopped and make sure it sinks in -- what is the time and what is the score?  Both of these questions should pop into your mind every time the whistle blows.  Before you wonder who traveled or who the foul was called on, and before you droop (if the foul was called on you). Check the time and the score.

It only takes one player -- YOU -- to make sure that your team isn’t setting up a play when it should be hurrying up a shot.  And it only takes YOU to alert your teammates to defend the sudden long pass a team may throw when they realize there are only a few seconds left.
