SAVING THE BALL

When a ball is going out of bounds and you see that one of your teammates touched it last, and you know you can't get it and stay inbounds, naturally you are going to try and bat it or push it inbounds so your team at least has a chance fo it.

The ONLY time you should NOT do this is when you are under your opponents basket.  Your good hustle play could end up giving the other team an easy putback.

Instead, go ahead and let it go out of bounds (unless of course you CAN get it and STAY inbounds).  You have a much better chance of defending an inbounds play when your team has the time to get set up more-so than trying to defend a loose ball batted back into a crowd under the other teams basket.
