Nostril time is any time you have the ball near the basket with a defender on you.
Take the ball straight up into the nostrils of the player defending you. A shot taken right through the nostrils forces the player to defend herself and keep her hands near her face, instead of outstretched and waiting to disrupt or try and block your shot. It is much easier for a shot-blocker to get to a fade away in most cases than to defend a shot put up near her nose.
Don’t purposely try and hit her in the nose, just get it close enough to give her something to think about. Remember, any time you have the ball near the basket, it’s nostril time. It is time to get tough and go for the basket, STRAIGHT for the basket, right up past the defender’s nostrils.
