Good players consistently act differently when they receive a pass than average players. Good players are always a threat to score. Their body language, their pivot, their eyes: they look aggressive.
Average players look different. They may pivot the same or make jab steps, but they do not look like threats to attack or shoot.
As a defender, you can 'read' your opponents body language on the catch and immediately tell whether they are a threat to score.
