THE SPIRIT OF EXCELLENCE

Outside of the United Center in Chicago, stands a 16 foot statue in honor of a former player.  The statue was erected a year after he retired.

You will be remembered, in the long haul, for the quality and spirit of your game, not the quantity of your points.

No one remembers Michael Jordan based on the number of points he scored.  But instead on the magnificent way he scored them and the competitive spirit that he played with.

Just make up your mind at the very outset that your effort is going to stand for quality... that you are going to stamp a superior quality upon everything that you do on the court.  Whatever you do shall bear the hall-mark of excellence.

If you are going to achieve excellence in big things, you must develop the habit in small matters. Excellence is not an exception, it is a prevailing attitude.
