SEVEN POINTS IN 1.4 SECONDS

Coaches preach it day in and day out…that EVERY SINGLE POSSESSION COUNTS and today’s game featuring the previous two NBA champions drove that point home better than any coach ever could.

For nearly 48 minutes, the Spurs and Celtics played to a near-draw Sunday afternoon, back-and-forth in a game of punch-and-counter punch, big shots and big defensive stands.

With 20.4 seconds left and down by 1-point, the Spurs hit a 3-ptr that put them up by two.  Then on a sloppy Celtics inbounds pass, the Spurs stole the ball and the Celtics fouled on the Spurs breakaway.  Being that a foul on a breakaway lay up is a technical foul….the Spurs went to the line for four FT’s.

The Spurs scored seven (7) points in a period of 1.4 seconds and then got the ball back (technical foul).  In the end, the Spurs won 105-99.

Every possession counts.
