BUILDING A DYNASTY

Over the last couple of practices, I've finally started to see the pieces coming together nicely and it reminded me of a quote I once read... "a team with a star is a good team, but a team without a star is a great team." The emphasis in the quote was obviously on "teamwork" in-lieu of a one-man show.

As we seek our 5th Conference championship in six years... teamwork, role players, and leadership on the court will be the keys to our success.

The Spurs are the perfect example of a team that seeks out high character, unselfish role-players to compliment Tim Duncan. Duncan could easily dominate the ball and put up amazing numbers every night, but he never has. He understands the importance of "team" and his teammates understand the importance of being "role players" and that has been a huge part of the Spurs success.
