CAN CROSSOVERS REALLY BREAK ANKLES?

I remember watching a varsity game a few years back when a young point guard did a crossover that literally dropped her defender to the floor as she tried to guard her. It’s called an “ankle breaker” because it looked like the defender’s ankles just snapped and dropped her straight to the court. Thankfully, the only thing the defender suffered as a result was some embarrassment. I came across this clip from Sport Science this afternoon that takes a scientific look at the crossover and the ankle breaker.
